Welcome to Online Economics

If you are trying to access an online course in which you are registered, go to http://brightspace.uakron.edu. You will not see your course until Dr. Myers makes it active. This page has the required books, the syllabus, and some past evaluations.

Books for Economic Analysis (ECON 244)

Textbook Number 1

The first and primary textbook is Principles of Economics, Third Edition, by Steve Greenlaw, David Shapiro, and Daniel MacDonald, which is FREE and Open Source. Please go to this link to acquire the FREE text in one of many formats:
https://openstax.org/details/books/principles-economics-3e.

This edition is newly revised for Fall 2023. I will continue to refer to the text as Greenlaw and Shapiro in the course. Yes, you may use the second edition, but why would you want to?

Textbook Number 2

The second book that we will use in the first week is by Henry Hazlitt, Economics in One Lesson. You can FREELY download it or read it online at https://fee.org/resources/economics-in-one-lesson/.

Once on the fee.org page scroll down to see the full online web-based version.
